Donations
You can donate in the following ways:-

REGULAR SUPPORT

Have you ever thought of supporting the Animal Shelter on a regular basis?  As you will know, all the running costs of the Shelter are raised locally and we receive no support from the RSPCA national society - although they do help us with capital building projects.

Our running costs are very high and the Branch Committee raises funds in a number of ways.  However, all our efforts do not provide all the funds we need.  We rely heavily on legacies left to the Branch.

YOU can help!  If you click the link below, we have set up a Standing Order Mandate for you to complete and return to the Branch Secretary.  Your donation can be as little as £2.00, that's 50p per week!

MAKE A DONATION

We receive no government funding.  Everything we achieve is thanks to people who really care about animals - people like you!

‘FRIEND OF THE SHELTER’

If you would like to support the constant stream of animals then please become a ‘Friend of the Shelter’.  You will receive a regular Newsletter keeping you informed about our work at the Shelter.  The annual subscription to be a "Friend of the Shelter" is only £15.00.

'SAVE A LIFE’

Sponsor a Kennel or a Cattery

YOU could sponsor a Kennel (£4 per day) or a Cattery (£3 per day) and help with the cost of caring for the occupant.

Last year the RSPCA – Southport, Birkdale & District Branch re-homed over 1,500 abused, abandoned or unwanted cats, dogs, rabbits and many other small animals and our workload is increasing.

It is our policy not to put animals to sleep unless they are seriously ill.

We control the cost of caring for each animal very carefully but YOUR help is always needed.

Please remember that all the day-to-day running costs of our Animal Shelter are met from locally raised funds.

CASH FROM TRASH

We are pleased to announce that we are launching a scheme in partnership with 'Office Green' to recycle old mobile phones - worth up to £60.00, inkjet cartridges (used in inkjet printers and some FAX machines) - worth up to £3.50 and toner cartridges (used in photocopiers and some FAX machines) - worth up to £7.00.

This is a way in which YOU could help to raise funds for your local Branch without spending a penny - and help the environment at the same time.

We will be providing containers at our Shelter and in our Charity Shop to receive old mobile phones and the cartridges from printers and copiers.

LEGACIES

Did you know that neither the RSPCA nationally or the Southport, Birkdale & District Branch receive any State or Lottery aid?

All the (considerable) costs of running our Branch are met from money which is raised locally.

Charges made for adoptions, together with other Shelter income including the sale of pet foods etc. amount to about 20% of our running costs.  Further money has to be raised from fundraising events, the Charity Shop and collecting etc. but unfortunately all of this does not meet all of our bills.

Legacies provide the Branch with a valuable source of income and allows the Branch Committee to incur expenditure on the provision and renewal of the animal facilities as well as providing for the welfare of the animals on a day-to-day basis.  The fact is we could not continue to carry on our vital work if it was not for the kind benefactors who have remembered us in their wills.

Please give a thought to remembering the Southport, Birkdale & District Branch of the RSPCA in your Will

This is easy to do – your solicitor can easily prepare the paperwork for you – even if you have already written your Will.

To ensure that your local RSPCA Branch benefits from your generosity, please make sure that you say clearly in your will that you wish you legacy to go the “Southport, Birkdale & District Branch of the RSPCA, Charity No. 232258”.

For further information and assistance on any of the above please contact the Branch Secretary on 01704 567624.

On behalf of the animals in our care – ‘thank you’.
